Finally!!! ______________________________________________________________________________ The Circle of Power is complete! BSD #4 checking in for duty, sir! Previous best runs: 1.699__________ 1.671 5.083__________ 5.032 7.864@88.79____ 7.818@88.75 10.265_________ 10.225 12.289@111.21__ 12.269@110.35 Since last week's 12.28@111.2, I added 2 more degrees of timing, removed the swaybar completely (I had it just disconnected before), and put in Mobil 1 10-30 synthetic to replace the 20w-50 dino oil. Pass. Seat, jack and spare are still removed. With Seat jack spare and swaybar on, it weighs 3400 lbs. w/ 1/4 tank and me. All of that stuff weighs around 75 - 90 lbs. so race weight was about 3310-3325. Scale wasn't working last night :( Last Night Run 1 1.728 :-( (crappy) 5.039 (almost best ever) 7.751@93.12 (holy MPH batman!! and best e.t. !!) 10.116 (best ever) 12.097@113.78 (WOW - by far the best ever!) I was happy with a 12-oh but since it was the first run off the trailer, I knew I could do better. I spun really bad off the line through first and the car got sideways - had to lift. I think that explains the high 1/8th mph. Ran right back up to the line. Run 2 1.623 (Holy S**T!!!) 4.915 (finally - a sub 5.0!!) 7.651@90.25 (normal mph but still 1.5 higher than previous bests) 10.009 (so close to a 9.x - I really wanted that) 11.997@113.39(just by the hair of my chinny chin chin!!!) Lauched around 4100-4200. Tires were literally grabbing for traction all the way through first gear!!! (maybe time for some supension or maybe 10" slicks!) It's barely an 11, but it counts!!!! the 12.0 backs it up! Added one more degree of timing and ran 12.221@112.50 w/ 1.74 60'. It was a bad launch - too high rpm. (4400) But I nailed the 1-2 shift hard enough to spin the slicks like I used to spin street tires on the 1-2 shift!!! Put EEC-Tuner ( www.eec-tuner.com ) back to the 11 second tune (I have an ELEVEN SECOND TUNE!!! LOL) and missed the holy hell out of 3rd. Dad thinks I banged the rev limiter (7000 rpm fuel cutoff - ouch) - I'll have to watch the tape to see. It was a 1.683 launch, but 330 was a 5.16, so it was a poor run anyway. The track had gone to crap by that point and theweather SUCKED anyway! What really impressed me were the times considering the weather. It had rained all day until about 2-3 pm. Temp was in the mid 60s, but humidity was 100% (BOB or KIM - Dewpoint and temp were identical - that makes 100% humidity, right?) Barometer was 30.09 (slightly high) but falling. No wind. Starting line was in good shape, but the rest of the track was pretty greasy. ALSO, I was only making 7-8 psi falling to 6-7 psi around 3500-4000 rpm!! Damn!!! I love this thing! I can't believe how well (IMHO) it launches with a mostly stock suspension! Unfortunately, this was the last day of test and tune - no more racing until end of feb/first of march. Not sure of the plans for this winter. I need to get to a dyno and check A/F ratio and tune the timing. I have no idea where my A/F is right now. If it's too lean, then a Pro M 80 or 83 mm is robably next and some 42 #/hr lightening injectors. Woo hoo - I'm so excited to have an (officially) 11 second car. I knew it would eventually get there! BSD #4 - officially!
