iT'S ACTUALLY EASIER THAN i THOUGHT IT WOULD. i FIRST PRACTICED (oops sorry about that) on the street tires, then did it on the slicks. On slicks, pull around water box and back the slicks into the water (if you run skinnies, you can just pull through the water at most tracks). Pull to the front edge of the water and in 1st gear, just spin the tires over once or twice to get them moist. Pull up to the damp area (about 1-2 feet). Since you have 3.73s, you can do a second gear burnout. bring the revs up to about 3-4000 and drop teh clutch. The tires should immediately start spinning. Immediately jump on the brakes w/ your left foot, but not too hard. You don't want to drag the rear brakes, you just want to hold the front still. It doesn't take a lot of braking to do that. Keep your rpms steady (I use around 4000 rpm or so). After a few seconds, you will feel the tires start to bite and bring the rpms down. Let offthe brake and roll slowly off the gas as the car begins to move forward. BE SURE to hit the clutch and brake now to stop (I've forgotten to clutch it and stalled nicely before - embarassing!!) Pull immediately to teh line and pre-stage. bring the rpms up, Stage, and let it fly. After about 3-4 burnouts, I was able to do it fairly well. After about 10, I got the "feel" down. It's much easier on street tires,, since they don't really bite like the slicks do. Try it - it really is easier than it seems.
